AISI O6 Oil Hardening Tool Steel
•(Machine finish) T & B with saw-cut edges
•(Machine finish) FOUR SIDES
•PRECISION GROUND
•HOLLOW BAR
DESCRIPTION
An electric furnace oil hardening tool steel that differs from conventional tool steels because of the presence of free graphite in the structure. Graphite in the annealed material imparts free machining characteristics unparalleled in competitive grades. This means faster removal of stock and longer life of the cutting tool used. Should be used on any job where wear properties and anti-frictional characteristics, such as resistance to scuffing, are of prime importance.

ADVANTAGES
•Free machining qualities
•High resistance to wear
•Good anti-frictional properties with less tendency for pick-up and scoring than other tool steels
•High physical properties Uniform structure
•Excellent response to heat treatment
•A tougher oil film between wearing surfaces as a result of the unusual mechanical structure of this steel
